JX NIPPON MINING & METALS HQ OFFICE by KOKUYO Co., Ltd

To win out in the increasingly intensifying global competition even as the pace of societal changes accelerates, the Company is seeking to shift toward “technology-based business management”, with its main pillar of providing distinctive, leading-edge products and services supported by advanced technology, as called for in the Long-Term Vision.

Essential to achieving this Vision will be introducing dynamic business management and developing personnel who could create new value.

In the new Headquarters, They introduced to improve productivity by giving employees greater autonomy in carrying out their work, and to encourage free and open communication doing away with organizational boundaries.

To facilitate this work style, open spaces and lounges usable for multiple purposes are provided in the new Headquarters, and other innovative spatial design measures have been taken. Another feature is the provision of a SQUARE LAB, for the purpose of making known Group technologies inside and outside the Company, along with promoting co-creation with various partners.

SQUARE LAB’s gallery puts on display the technology behind JX metal and its future possibilities. Designed in neutral colors, SQUARE LAB’s arena provides numerous opportunities for open innovation. By “blacking out,” the space removes visual noise and creates an environment that allows for complete concentration on discussion. Its lighting plan is based on Square Lab’s logo.

At lunchtime the lounge becomes a space where employees can gather to eat, while during working hours it can be used as a “third place,” supporting workers’ needs organically.

By installing telephone booths, LINK connects each hub beginning with research and development. In order to embody the sprit of technology-based management, the space features a copper sheet spandrel finish with lively interior colors.
