GOLD WINNING PROJECT

Marq Omotesando One by EQT Exter

Exclusive, contemporary residential development. Located in the heart of Tokyo's prestigious Jingumae area. Accessible via a narrow street and overlooked on all sides, a key challenge was developing both the building envelope and facade design whilst working within the challenging constraints of the site.

The resulting form is clean and simple, with stepped terraces and large balcony cantilevers providing a strong horizontal emphasis.

MIRAI CONVENIENCE STORE landscape by KOKUYO Co., Ltd.

The outdoor café terrace attached to the MIRAI CONVENIENCE STORE is now open. This rare area rich in natural beauty has been called the "Tibet of Shikoku". However, like other rural communities, it is evolving into a marginal settlement, where a population of only about 1000 people lives in an area the same size as a Tokyo ward. The private firm KITO DESIGN HOLDINGS has launched a project intended to revive this tiny village of Kito using the power of culture and industry. The name "Mirai" ("future" in Japanese) was inspired by manga artist Osamu Tezuka's term for children: "miraijin" ("people of the future").  And it was named in the hope that this place would nurture children and create the future of Kito. Therefore, the MIRAI CONVENIENCE STORE was designed with a truss structure of yuzu trees, which is the identity of Kito, and a large roof motif, as the Kito boasts the highest rainfall in Japan.

Architecture Bronze Winning Project

Saitama TOYOTA Honjo-Waseda by ARC Design Office/club Mai architects

This facility is a newly built store following the relocation of the Saitama Toyota Honjobranch. There are a total of five buildings, including the main building of approximately 2,100 m2 consisting of a showroom and an automobile repair shop, the Saitama Toyota Rental Lease building, and other attached buildings.

Honjo Waseda is located on the northern edge of Saitama Prefecture, surrounded by the rich natural environment of the Akagi and Asami hills, and a variety of archaeological and cultural assets from the Old Stone Age to the modern era.

Inspired by the characteristics of the region, which has both historical and future-oriented elements, we have created a new building that is a reflection of "time" as an eternal flow of time.

The concept of "Timeless" - bringing new value with each passing moment - was arrived at by introducing "time" as an eternal flow into the architecture.

Two main methods were used to realize this concept.
