YOKOHAMA SKY BLOOD DONATION ROOM by MITSUI Designtec Co., Ltd. (Japan)
A new blood donation room that can boast having the most blood donors in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The concept is "Airport Lounge."

Donating blood is a volunteer activity that saves lives. Because there is a chronic shortage of blood donations, the goal is to create a "blood donation room" that does not resemble a medical facility and to provide a comfortable experience for as many people as possible to donate blood.
Guests can enjoy the magnificent view from the 27th floor and spend time in a sophisticated urban space in the YOKOHAMA SKY blood donation room.
We aimed to create a chic and playful mind of the matured space, where time flows at a leisurely pace,
The floor plan has been designed to ensure stress-free navigation for donors and staff.
Design and functionality are both achieved, with lighting that creates a calm atmosphere while still allowing the donors' complexions to be clearly visible.
There are lockers for donors at the entrance.
In the center is an iconic bench that appears to be floating.
The waiting lounge is designed with calm colours and furniture.
The reception counter has an iconic design that expresses the place name "YOKOHAMA" in three dimensions.
The ceiling features a single-slope design that divides the space.
The ENGAWA-like window offers a magnificent view.
The blood collection area has completely separate flow lines for donors and staff, and is designed to be bright and clean, allowing the blood, veins, and donor's complexion to be easily visible.
We hope that more blood donation rooms like this will be built, people will become more familiar with the act of saving lives, and that more individuals will donate blood as part of their lives.
