Hangzhou M2 Art Center by Guan Xiaohao. (China)
In terms of the project, it is located in a multifunctional art space that starts with a wedding dress display in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. With the owner’s intention, the project was originally conceived as a space to foster a deep dialogue with women and encourage reflection on marriage choices. The lighting is intelligently controlled, offering a variety of colour temperatures and colour changes, thereby shaping the space's spirit and attempting to resonate with women in the current era.
The top of the space features a large area of light film, constructed with a full-spectrum 2700K-6500 K LED lens strip. Moreover, the symmetrical strip light distribution will uniformly illuminate the soft film ceiling. When the brightness is as low as 1-2cd/m², there is no sense of grain in the shooting, which ensures daily lighting, customer shooting, and space scene changes to meet a variety of needs.
At the top of the independent oval light film, a built-in full-spectrum 2700K-6500 K lens strip is combined with a DMX512 RGB illumination lens strip to ensure the interpretation requirements of the space.
Behind the giant arch at the end of the space, two 2700 K and 6500 K 500W LED luminaires are installed to light upward, shaping the sense of immensity of the arch and forming a backlight to accentuate the curve of the space. In this regard, it not only meets the lighting needs but also reflects the space's grayness.
After several tests and experiments, the stage moving head light was selected among various laser lights, stage dye lights, stage moving head lights, cast lights, and brightening lights to illuminate the eight-meter crystal chandelier in the middle of the giant arch. The profile, similar to that of the large satellites, is adorned with a crystal chandelier and eight trapezoids of varying sizes. In the strong 4000 K narrow-angle moving head light, colourful light spots appear, and the moving head lights move up and down, resulting in a sense of sacredness that enthralls people.
During the experimentation process, we discovered by chance that the shadows and sunset created by the stage's moving headlight over the water surface are very romantic. Eventually, a photographic receiver is set on a 30*30cm 4000k floodlight fixture, then an orange filter is added, and the marble is used to optimize the appearance, resulting in a “device” on the tread. We call it the“Sunset”.
The lighting must be adjusted and combined to create on-site scenes. The intelligent lighting system of this project is based on the RTI central control host as the core. Moreover, it features a visual editing interface that conveniently controls the lighting system. Ouhua DALI dual-colour temperature dimming technology is adopted to achieve infinitely adjustable light brightness, while the colour temperature of the light can be adjusted according to individual needs, which achieves the desired visual effect in lighting design. Additionally, the system also adopts DMX512 dynamic digital light control technology, which enables precise control of the colour and dynamics of the light.
In the final practical application, lighting reflects its value in different spaces and time periods, catering to varying crowd demands. Furthermore, the combination of different lights, colour temperatures, and colours is used to interpret scenes such as sand dunes, weddings, concerts, marriage proposals, auctions, and oriental themes, which endow the space with a variety of movie-like interpretations accordingly.
