BIJOUPIKO Fukui by ODS / Oniki Design Studio (Japan)

BIJOUPIKO Fukui is a jewelry store that offers a curated selection of engagement and wedding rings. Our studio took part in the architecture and interior design upon its relocation. The store is located along a main road, about a 15-minute drive from Fukui Station, which has been accessible via bullet train since its recent extension in 2024.

A gable roof was selected to withstand the heavy snow load of this region. Adouble-story core is designed in the center with a spacious atrium on either side. The central core, comprised of a tan spray wall coating, serves as the main retail area. The space includes a meeting area and provides a calm atmosphere for customers to browse comfortably. The atriums on either side, with their contrasting white finishes, feature north-facing floor-to-ceiling windows and floor-level windows on the east and west, constantly filling the open space with natural light. The shop is surrounded by a beautiful stone garden, which is visible from the inside and enjoyable. By blending these two contrasting spaces, the design creates a dynamic flow that encourages customers to wander through the shop.
